 Barbara Kohlhausen, CSW
- President & CEO
- Barbara Kohlhausen joined Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland Inc. as President & CEO in July of 2008. Prior to returning to Meals on Wheels, Barbara worked as President at the Caimbridge Brokerage Group, an independent insurance agency located in Nanuet, New York.
Ms. Kohlhausen, a CSW, brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to the Agency. A graduate of Dominican College with an MSW from Columbia University she worked for the Department of Social Services in the Adult Protective Services Department for Rockland County, She was employed by Volunteer Counseling Service and was program supervisor for the Meals on Wheels Social Model Adult Day Care Center previously known as the STAR Program.
She left the Agency to open Cambridge Brokerage Group and built it into a thriving insurance agency for 16 years. While running her business Ms. Kohlhausen continued to maintain a relationship with Meals on Wheels by serving on the Board of Directors and as chairman of the board. For the past three years she served as chairman of the Board of Directors of Hospice.

 Jim Burton
- Assistant Executive Director for Operations
- Jim Burton grew up in Rockland County and has worked for the Agency since 1994. As Director of Operations, he supervises the Volunteer Programs Coordinator and over 700 volunteers. He also supervises the Transportation Coordinator and an ancillary staff of 19. Jim manages the Agency fleet of 17 vehicles which provides over 5,500 trips annually to frail and elderly program participants. He also maintains the Agency computer network with over 35 users.
Jim oversees the physical plant for the Commissary, Clarkstown Senior Center, Bobbi Lewis Adult Day Center, SeniorNet Learning Center and administrative offices for the Agency. He writes bid requests, administers contracts for utilities, telephone services, network consultants, business equipment and other operational needs.
Jim serves as an advisor to the SeniorNet Learning Center where volunteer instructors teach computing, including the use of various programs, email and surfing the Internet. He oversees the Agency Coin Box Program, which solicits donations from the public with the cooperation and support of local merchants. His generalist responsibilities call upon him to support all areas of Agency. He is a newly appointed member of the Advisory Council to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, (RSVP) of Rockland County.

 Marianne Colucci RD, CDN
- Director of Food Services & Nutrition
- Marianne Colucci has worked for Meals on Wheels for more than twenty years. As Director of Food Services & Nutrition, she is responsible for complete operation of the Central Commissary. Marianne plans nutritionally balanced menus for all the programs along with the purchase of food and supplies. She insures that the preparation and handling of food complies with county, state and federal sanitation codes.
She provides nutrition counseling and nutrition education to the Homebound, Day Care and Congregate clients.
As a resident of Rockland County since 1975, she has been professionally practicing as a Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. She is a leader in the field of Geriatric Nutrition acting as a Consultant for numerous Long Term and Assisted Living Facilities. She is a member of the (ADA) American Dietetic Association and practice group for Consultant Dietitians for Health Care Facilities, along with membership with (WRDA) Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association and (ASDNYS) Aging Services Dietitians of New York State.

 Debra Kagan-Birkeland, LMSW
- Assistant Executive Director for Programs & Services
- Debra Kagan-Birkeland, LMSW, has been employed since 1987 as the Director of Social Work for Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland, Inc.
Debra received her Masters Degree in Social Work with honors from the University of Kansas in 1979. Debra has over 25 years of professional experience in the field of Social Work.
Debra supervises all aspects of social work intervention provided to the Agency's homebound meal recipients as well as senior center participants. She also supervises the continued development and implementation of the Agency’s mental health wellness seminars known as the Alert and Alive Program. In addition, Debra oversees the operation of the Agency's two social model adult day care centers known as The Bobbi Lewis Adult Day Center and the Intergenerational Adult Day Center.
During her tenure at Meals on Wheels, Debra has represented the Agency on a variety of community boards and committees. For six years she served as Secretary and Vice President for the Board of Directors, Alzheimer's Association Rockland County Chapter. She currently serves as a board member of the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley/Rockland/Westchester NY Chapter.
Debra is also a graduate of the Leadership Rockland Class of 1999 and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

 Donald Lermer
- Director of Finance
- Don joined the Management Team of Meals on Wheels in December 2003. Don brings to the Agency over 30 years of professional managerial and financial expertise. For 26 years Don served as the CFO for the Omnium Transportation Company, an International organization with a budget exceeding $80 million, operating offices in New York, New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro.
Don is well-versed in the areas of financial statement preparation and analysis, preparation and implementation of budgets, cost accounting, cash management and investments.
During his tenure with the Agency, Don reorganized the financial system, updating internal controls, collection procedures and instituted the segmentation of income producing centers.

 Mary Lou Russo, CFRE
- Director of Development
- Mary Lou Russo has been the Director of Development for Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, Inc. since April 2001. She received her certification as a fund raising professional from the International Association of Fundraising Professionals. She began her career as a Development Assistant at the Bucks County Pennsylvania Historical Society in 1990 and has worked as a fund raiser for various not-for-profits ever since. Included in her resume is the three years she was the Executive Director of a social service agency in Connecticut. Mary Lou is a member of the Executive Committee of the Rockland Development Council and is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Rockland.

 Carolyn Wolfson
- Director Senior Centers
- Carolyn Wolfson has been with MOW since March 1992. As a returning student Carolyn completed her BSW from Dominican College, graduating with departmental honors. Hired as a part time social worker for the Senior Centers Program, Carolyn helped develop and implement the first Alert and Alive Program, and with the Director of Social Work, started the first bereavement program for Senior Center participants.
Two years later, Carolyn became the Director of Senior Centers, overseeing six centers that employ 21 staff, and serve over 700 participants. New programs, such as the "Spring Fling", "Valentines for Vets", "Café Night" and the "Antiques Road Show" have been developed over the years she has been Director.

 Marilyn Zurlnick
- Director of Human Resources
- As Director of Human Resources for Meals on Wheels, Marilyn manages all employee benefits and payroll operations. She also directs the clerical staff and acts as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO and Board of Directors of the Agency.
