  • Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, Inc. is not a government agency. In fact, less than half of the total $3.5 million annual operating budget comes from government funding.

  • To help Meals on Wheels continue to provide much "more than a meal" to the homebound, seniors and others living in Rockland County we rely on the kindness and generosity of our donors as well as our volunteers.

  • Please become a partner by volunteering your time and by donating to Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, Inc.

  • In 2005, 80.86% of the Agency's total expenses were spent on program services, 15.28% was spent on management and general expenses, and 3.86% was spent on fundraising.

  • Your gift can make a difference…

    • $25 will provide a birthday celebration for an isolated homebound person including lunch and dinner and personal birthday cake and card.

    • $50 will provide two home delivered meals for a person for week.

    • $100 will enable one frail and/or cognitively impaired senior to come to an adult daycare center for a day.

    • $250 provides two home delivered meals for one person for a month.

    • $500 provides an emergency shelf stable food package for 100 homebound individuals.

  • Gifts of any size help make a difference. Donations can be made as tribute gifts to honor an individual for a special occasion or as a memorial gift in honor of someone who has passed away.

  • A special gift catalog is available which allows you to give a gift that keeps on giving by giving a gift of a donation for a special occasion, a holiday or just to show that you care. You can elect to have a gift card sent to the gift recipient directly by Meals on Wheels or the gift card can be sent to you to be presented to the recipient. To request a gift catalog please call (845) 624-6325.

  • The Henry Solomon Memorial Wall of Recognition represents an opportunity for individuals or groups to thank, honor, reward, commemorate or memorialize a relative, friend, family, group or special event by purchasing an acrylic plaque engraved with the name of person, group or event being honored. The plaque becomes a permanent part of a bronze and acrylic mural housed in the lobby of the headquarters of Meals on Wheels of Rockland. Donations for plaques range from $500 to $10,000. It is a wonderful way for family members to honor and recognize a special birthday or anniversary or to pay tribute to someone in a meaningful way which will also help ensure that in the future no one goes hungry and all seniors and their families have a place to turn for help. For more information on creating a lasting tribute through the Henry Solomon Memorial Wall please call (845) 624-6325.

  • Some planned giving options are gifts of stock, bequests made through a will and donating an existing life insurance policy. You may also want to include Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland as a beneficiary of your existing insurance policy or will. You can also name Meals on Wheels as your charity of choice in your employee giving program. Please remember to include your gift to Meals on Wheels in your employer's matching gift program. You may also donate through the United Way Community Cares Fund or through the United Way Donor Choice Program.
